What is my career?

Without delving into my life history (I expect there are snippets in some of my blogs, here), I started training properly around 7 years ago. Initially it was running and cardio-based sessions, and then I found the weights. My passion for weight training and getting strong became one of my main focus’, so I decided a career in helping others achieve this feeling of well-being, health and strength, would be the right job for me. I qualified at the end of 2014, after deciding to go ahead with my career decision.

I remember at a point, being sat at my 9-5 job, just counting down the hours to go to the gym. My job was so mundane and quiet, that I spent most of the days reading up on training and nutrition to better myself. That is when I decided what I was meant to be doing.

When I am asked “What is your job?”, I am lucky enough to not have just one thing. I love variety, so I am constantly wanting to branch off to different things that interest me. I teach fitness classes at a gym where I work, offer Personal Training, provide massage treatments, & teach swimming currently.

How I train:

Currently, my main sessions consist of running (when I don’t have Achilles tendonitis!), sea swimming, general weight training & CrossFit! But that’s not what I’m limited to. I also teach spin which is a session in itself, and will do anything else that I feel like training. Variety is KEY.

I practice what I preach. I train myself, I push myself. I vary things, I change things. Everything I do, is to keep my body and myself happy.

I am a huge believer in self care. I think the world is a busy, stressful place to be at times – which is damaging our mental and physical health. Taking time to look after yourself is the most important thing you will do in your life. It’s your body and mind, look after it.
